poor health insurance choices for sales associates

I didn't get any benefits because my position was on call. One thing I didn't realize was that I was earning vacation time and I didn't know until it was blackout, meaning that I couldn't use my vacation time due to it being holiday time. I'm pretty upset that I worked my tail off earning those hours and then never got to benefit from them.

Time off needs to be more for such a large company. Better perks for employees to include stock. Need a new commission structure

Current Director of Planning in New York, New York State

Health insurance plan causes you to pay a lot out of pocket, they rolled out a "flexible work schedule", however it all depends on who you work for if you are able to use that benefit, a lot of the company is slow to adapt

Current Employee in Los Angeles, California

It only offers PPO insurance options, which no one ever meets their deductible, so you're stuck paying for everything. They switched to Eye Med, buts that's a discount service, and my current insurance only covers the exam only. No frames.

Minimal "perks". Different areas receive different benefit opportunities (work from home, etc.) and again, lousy pay.

Former Assistant Store Manager in New York, New York State

Big deductibles make it hard to use benefits But you have good HSA chances to earn $1000. company benefit perk annually to pay for small items.

Former Sales Associate in Appleton, Wisconsin

They don not offer much except for the employee discount program which is 30 percent off. If you reach certain hours of work then they you have some paid time off accumulated in your account

Current Employee in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania

The health insurance provider is not good. 401k is good as well as employee discounts

Former Sales Associate in Boise, Idaho

I worked part time, so I didn't get as many benefits as full time employees. The best (and only) thing for me was the employee discount, but also it wasn't very much of a discount and I hardly shop at Macy's anyway.

Current Employee in Bel Air, Maryland

Very limited time off. Too many sales and promotions makes it hard to get time off.

The worst thing about working for Macys is there is a lot of staff turnover

The benefits offered are terrible especially considering the pay and amount to pay out of pocket.

Vacation comparable if not better than competition. Paid time off, maternity leave...Health insurance.....Build PTO with years of service. Worst,, continually changing medical providers.
    May 23, 2017
Current Employee in Barboursville, West Virginia

Full Comprehensive Benefits but hire less full-time employees because of it

The new work-flex benefit is great, along with the new 8-weeks of parental leave benefit (on top of disability leave).
    May 19, 2017
Former Sales Associate in Santa Clara, California

    the employee discount, vacation time.
    May 24, 2017
Current Marketing Manager in New York, New York State

employee discount, HSA [that company also contributes towards], 401K, medical, vision, dental
    May 22, 2017
Former Employee in Sunland Park, New Mexico

Time off is great. Even when i worked part time I was allowed 6 paid days. 401k and health insurance really aren't talked about at the associate level, you must inquire about those yourself and still management doesn't really have the answers and HR for my store was MIA most of the time.

    Easily could be improved upon
    May 24, 2017
Former Sales Associate in Yorktown Heights, New York State
